Here’s a dope video from Seattle’s Jake One off of his debut album, White Van Music. The first time I heard Jake One was back in the late-’90s when he was producing beats for an indie label out of Seattle called Conception Records. Dude has come a long, long way since then, and is now one of the top producers in the game. This tune is a tribute to his hometown, and the video is put together really well. In his words:
Finally, I’m happy to present the video to my tribute to Seattle, “Home”. The song features MC’s Vitamin D, Note, Maneak B and Ish, who have all been big influences in my music. Sir Mix-a-Lot brought out his orange Lambo and Nate Burleson repped the town and the Seahawks as well. Super Director Zia [Mohajerjasbi] did a phemomenal job creating the perfect visual for the music and now its time for the world to see it.
DJ LIL TIGER starts things off with a love-themed Soul set with splashes of classic disco and contemporary R&B. EMPANADAMN holds it down in the second half with a mesh of synthy dance, pop, Hip-Hop and electro.

Im sorry. I just couldn’t do it. I watched Seattle win, I watched Seattle lose. Am I the only one that was able to let the 90’s go? This style is so crufty. Yeah its nice and all that, but grandma are nice too. All you Disney’s need vivarin.
