In case y’all didn’t already catch this as it made the rounds yesterday, the multitalented Dwele puts together a beautiful tribute to MJ. Keep with it as it builds …
Michael Jackson: August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009.
We’ll never get enough, trust.

Still scratching my head at Nas, but SOMETHING good has to come out of this.

We’re back at it again. Come join us this Saturday afternoon as DJs empanadamn, Sailsmore and Soul Korea set sail for the wide, blue yonder. We’ll be grillin’ and chillin’ with an array of classic smooth jams, and there might possibly be frozen margaritas. Yeah, I said it.
Smooth Move is the perfect post-brunch / pre-party springboard to celebrate summer, with DJs mixing a throwback soundtrack that encompasses yacht rock, soft rock, AM gold, quiet storm cuts and everything in between.

Title single off of Lethal Bizzle‘s 3rd album “Go Hard” dropping June 29. This track is really doing it for me, and also features UK Funky’s it dude, Donae’o. Makes me want to run through a brick wall and blurt out, “OH YEAH!” Alas, I sit here behind a computer, putin’.
Fourth of July weekend in Brooklyn is gonna be MAJOR this year, with buhbOmp‘s own JD teaming up with DJ Mel to bring some of that old Nasty’s magic to The Rub‘s 7th Anniversary party:

Choimatic “20 Minutes Of Mahogany”
This is a mix by the homie Moe Choi aka Choimatic. A blend of good, soulful music from a dude who loves Morrissey as much as he loves M.O.P. I mean look at dude: he’s got gold fronts and has lines shaved in his head and he hangs out with Large Professor, Rob Swift and DJ Lomang (Ghostface’s DJ in China) while wearing a Depeche Mode lambswool knit sweater. Mind blasting.
You should listen on the strength of that alone.
Catch him spinning with me (Empanadamn) next Sunday, June 28, at Littlefield for the mixtape exchange party that I have yet to create a clever name for.
DJ LIL TIGER starts things off with a love-themed Soul set with splashes of classic disco and contemporary R&B. EMPANADAMN holds it down in the second half with a mesh of synthy dance, pop, Hip-Hop and electro.
